Heart for the Homeless
Shana Timothy, a.k.a. SoupGirl, and her husband, David “SoupMan” Timothy, share a laser-like focus on feeding the homeless and needy children in Dallas, Texas. Since 2003, their nonprofit, SoupMobile, has served over five million meals, providing food, hope, and love to those who need it most.
Dallas Roots & A Heart for Compassion
Born and raised in Dallas, Shana has deep roots in the community and a heart that overflows with love for both people and animals. She firmly believes in the words of Jesus, who said:
“Feed My Sheep.” (John 21:17)
For Shana, feeding the homeless isn’t just about food—it’s about love, care, and compassion. She sees each meal as a doorway into the hearts of the people they serve, a chance to uplift them beyond their physical hunger.
Ask the SoupGirl
Shana may not be Dear Abby, but years of working the hard streets of Dallas have given her keen insight into life’s ups and downs. She shares her wisdom and experiences through her weekly column, “Ask the SoupGirl,” featured exclusively in the Dallas Observer Newspaper.
Her dedication proves that a little kindness can go a long way, and that true change starts with one meal, one conversation, and one heart at a time.
