Who We Are

SoupMobile is a faith-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity dedicated to feeding the homeless and needy children in Dallas, Texas. Founded in 2003 by David “SoupMan” Timothy, we started on a wing and a lot of prayers, guided by the words of Jesus:

Feed My Sheep.” (John 21:16)

Since then, we have served over five million meals, striving to provide more than just food—we offer hope, love, and dignity to those in need.

What We Do

Feeding the Homeless

Every year, we serve over 250,000 meals to the homeless, bringing food directly to them in areas where they gather. As a mobile soup kitchen, we meet them where they are, offering nourishment and care.

Feeding Needy Children

In South Dallas, where 58% of families live below the poverty line, we provide meals to needy children, ensuring they have the nourishment they need to grow and thrive.

Christmas for the Homeless

Each year, we pull out all the stops to give the homeless a magical Christmas. Through special gifts, delicious meals, and an outpouring of love, we create an unforgettable celebration for those at the bottom of the food chain.

SoupMobile Church – Christ for the Homeless

In 2015, we launched SoupMobile Church—a church unlike any other. Here, the homeless are the MEMBERS, and guests from the community are the VISITORS. Every Sunday at 9:00 AM at 2423 S. Good Latimer, Dallas, TX, the church is filled to capacity with people hungry for more than just food.

  • 100% Jesus-based & non-denominational
  • Job placement, counseling, housing guidance, food & clothing assistance
  • A home church for the homeless—something they’ve never had before

At SoupMobile Church, we believe that Christ is for everyone—including the homeless.

Our Commitment to Transparency

We understand concerns about fraud and financial misuse in charitable organizations. That’s why SoupMobile is an open book. We have posted every tax return since 2003 on our Financials page, allowing you to see exactly how we operate.

If you have any doubts, please do not give them to us—but we encourage you to take a look at our records and see our dedication firsthand. We have nothing to hide.

Why SoupMan Devoted His Life to This Mission

David “SoupMan” Timothy grew up in a home where food was scarce. Though he was never homeless, he experienced hunger firsthand and the fear of not knowing when the next meal would come. This personal experience gave him a deep compassion for the homeless and needy children who struggle with hunger every day.

Together, we can make a difference—one meal, one act of kindness, and one life at a time.
